Sinfonietta Rīga season 17 finale

Behzod Abduraimov's first visit to Riga in September 2021 was a truly breathtaking experience for many. As one of his generations most acclaimed pianists he has performed solo concerts in New York Carnegie Hall, Lucerne and Verbier Festivals. Behzod Abduraimov returns to Riga with Sergei Prokofiev's passionate Second Piano Concerto that testifies of its author's own mastery of piano. The double bar of its reconstructed score was drawn in Paris, art connoisseurs' city of dreams, where the last of the Paris Symphonies of Joseph Haydn was born a century earlier. Pavel Karmanov's Twice a Double Concerto will reveal dazzling moments of affinity between the peripheries of Baroque and contemporary music. Finally, we will be able to confirm that each new experiment in geometrical perfection by the player piano's most avid explorer Conlon Nancarrow has been a fascinating addition to the world of music.
