Latvian Radio Big Band and Shayna Steele (USA). 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Ella Fitzgerald

The famous American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996) was known as the “First Lady of Song,” “the Queen of Jazz” and “Lady Ella.”  In honour of the centennial of the jazz diva’s birth, the Latvian Radio Big Band is offering a new look at her legendary heritage and her most brilliant repertoire.  On stage, the band will work together with three brilliant vocalists – Kristīne Prauliņa and Dināra Rudāne, who are Latvian musicians with powerful voices, as well as Shayna Steele, who grew up in California, polished her skills in New York, has been a previous participant in the Rīga Festival, and has a surprisingly colourful timbre of voice
